The smallest things make the biggest smiles.

Today we have hosted an event for 47 - should have been 64, but as always, some unable to come, some simply didnt show up - for an almost 3 year old girls birthday, and the theme was candy carnival / sweeties. A highly colourful theme, which offered endless possibilities to us by way of decorations, and accessories.

In the end, we decided that simple was better with this one - some very basic yet very affective see through bowls filled with various candy, some brightly coloured spots, trimmed bright napkins, bright plates, some funky straws, and out own party bags as the main centre of focus on all of the tables.

Having the opportunity to see the childrens faces light up as they walked in was just amazing, and hearing the excitement as they inspected the goodies in their bags reminded us just why we are so passionate about perfect party bags. Little things really do make a huge difference... even if you have to work your bottom off on lots of very little things to make it all come together !

Why Pay more?

When shopping for a party the list of possible purchases is simply endless. The party bags, the food, the tableware, the cake, the entertainment, the decorations ...

But why do our children need all of these things at their parties? And what becomes of said purchases after the event ?

In our household, birthday decorations get lovingly packed up in a box "because we never know when we might use them again..." You know, much like many other things parents no longer technically have a use for! In many households these simply become food for the big shiny monster that visits our street once per week (the rubbish truck). Is this not just like posting slightly screwed up, moderately torn, or biro-ed on fivers straight into the back of the dustcart though?

In recent times we have quit buying all of these decorations because we have come to the conclusion that they are simply not neccessary! With a little creatuve vision & the right, creative party bags, you can create a beautiful party environment and eliminate the need for those little extras (and if you opt for personalisation too you've also got your place name markers covered as well!

Good Manners are so important...

But when it comes to thanking party guests and birthday gifters it can be so hard to actually remember your good mannors. We all start with the best of intentions. We find the noteletts or cards we want to send, those of us who are crafters may plan out our card designs, but how often do we just get stuck at the planning stage ? Can you relate to nothing coming of your good intentions ?

Thank you cards are lovely, and they go a long way to making someone feel wanted, and appreciated... such a small gesture can really make a big difference, however when you have 20 or 30 thank you's to write, suddenly, it's not such a small gesture. How does one find the time to write their thank you's, or the thank you's on behalf of their children, as well as sorting all of the new gifts, and still carrying on with their day to day business? Its actually no small task after all.

Have you ever thought about doing it back to front ? Here at PLT we thank all of our party guests, not for the gifts they may have given our children, but for their time and help in making some really special memories, and usually before we've even recieved a gift.

We can supply highly themed, customised, personalised Thank you's as part of your party favour package for a small extra charge (charge waived for orders over £150 exc. shipping).

Our own pannel of in-house critics!

As a parent, you'll know that there are few more critical of your every move than your own offspring! If you arent a parent yet, then maybe we can give a little insight into this. Do you really want to know if your bum looks big in this? If you do, ask a 4 year old boy. And if you need a new wardrobe, just take a preschool, no, infact make that any little girl, shopping with you, she'll tell you immediately what looks "yuck" and what makes you look beautiful!

Kids are awesome, thats why we have 5 and would like another... but tact is much like wisdom, It is something that grows with age, experience and social interaction. Some children never develop tact, our ASD child certainly never has.

So we knew, that by developing a company that was centred around making children smile, that we would be working to please the hardest, most critical audience in the world... other peoples children! We figured that if we could please our own children with what we choose to stock, then we would be on the right path.

As it happens, as we unpacked the latest lines, and put the Busy Boys Summer Fun package together, we soon realised that we may have got this particular package a little too on the nail. In fact, we had a 2 against 5 battle to keep the goodies from the clutches of our 5 excited little critics!

Busy Boys Outdoor Fun Party Package.
Contents Includes : 1 x Large Nylon Kite. 1 x flying disk. 1 x 6 Jumbo Path Chalks. 1 x Water Squirter.

We also think that these would make a GREAT gift to give a young boy who you aren't particularly familiar with.

Just because they're little doesn't mean they can't join in too.

Babies and parties are always difficult ! Do you invite their parents and risk people that they don't know trying to touch and grab their baby, and making them feel uncomfortable ? Do you just not invite and risk offending them ? Is it a case of being "damned if you do and damned if you dont?", the honest answer is very possibly!

Personally, we take the approach of letting guests with newborn babies know as openly as we can "Our child is having a party on this date, and that time, you are very welcome to join us for the fun, and we would very much like to see you, but if you don't feel comfortable, or up to it, then we wont be offended". This approach works well for us, and we have never had an offended friend.

But babies and party bags, well that is a whole different matter. If, like us, you have a very distinct sense of not wanting to leave any child out, and you don't cope with guilt well, then you may be all-consumed with worry about providing a party bag for a new baby.

We love our new "Baby Soft Bear Friend Party Package". A super-soft 25 cm teddybear (Ideal for display in a new nursery, and will fit in with any colour), and a soft, chewable, babys 1st book.

And for a limited time this will set you back just a fiver! (RRP £6.50, Normal Perfect-Little-Touches Price of £5.65)

Hitting the Ground Running!

It's all go go go here at the moment. For some time we have been toying with the idea of actually moving our small events accessories on to a much bigger scale, and this time last week, with a very large party (for 68 guests) to arrange, theme, decor, cater, and arrange entertainment for we decided to just go for it!

Why we chose now, I don't know... with 5 children home for their summer vaccation, our only daughter turning 3 this month, and an impending holiday, some might say we are somewhat insane! Maybe we just thrive under pressure? Or maybe, with yet another set of events being frantically organised, now just seemed the right time to showcase our capabilites while inspiring ourselves for the future?

Whatever the reason, a week on, and we are, quite frankly, drowning in boxes of products. We have designs and accessories everywhere, but our beloved family are really enjoying being a part of what is happening and very enthusiastic to assist us!

So what are Perfect Little Touches ? To us, perfect little touches are all of those little things, little trimmings as it were, that make a special occasion, be it a baby shower, a new birth, a birthday, a wedding, an anniversary, a congratulations, a celebration of growth (such as first day at school), a sorry, a thank you, or a "just because..." that little bit more special. Its the fairy dust on tinks wings, or that magic 3/4 on platform 9 at kings cross that takes Harry Potter straight to the magic. We hope to bring you our version of these little pieces of magic at easily affordable prices.

Our Fluff & Frills Bag for girls aged 2 - 10 years will set you back a modest £3.75 per head (Lollipop not included), and is jam packed with no fewer than 11 goodies that will not end up in the bin with 48 hours of your party guests getting home.
